CoinDesk reported that Input Output is preparing to transfer responsibility for several important Cardano components to external engineering teams and community contributors. The transition covers work around the Haskell node, Plutus, Hydra, Daedalus and parts of developer relations.

The handoff is expected to begin in August and distribute responsibility across multiple independent participants. Input Output will continue research and involvement in new Cardano initiatives but will no longer remain the single development center for several core components.

The change does not mean the network’s working infrastructure will be replaced immediately. Repositories, release processes and technical support are expected to move gradually. For Cardano, the transition is a major organizational step toward reducing dependence on one company for maintenance of the network’s core software and tools.
